Citrus-Inspired Villa Antonia Wedding

A Citrus-Inspired Villa Antonia Wedding

Designing Gracie and Paul’s wedding stationery felt especially aligned with the heart of my work — I specialize in color-driven celebrations and whimsical, personal stationery, where every hue and illustration is chosen to support the story a couple wants to tell.

Some weddings feel like sunshine — warm, joyful, and effortlessly full of life. Gracie and Paul’s Villa Antonia wedding was exactly that. Set against the sweeping hill country views and old-world charm of Villa Antonia, their October celebration blended romantic candle-lit elegance with playful citrus-inspired details, all brought together through whimsical, hand-painted wedding stationery.

From citrus-hued florals to custom illustrations featuring their beloved cat, every piece of paper told a story — and that story started long before guests arrived.

The Setting: A Villa Antonia Wedding in October

Perched high above the Texas Hill Country, Villa Antonia in Jonestown, Texas, offers an atmosphere that feels both timeless and transportive. Stone archways, European-inspired architecture, and expansive views create a natural romance that doesn’t require much embellishment — but Gracie and Paul elevated it with color, art, and personality.

October’s golden light paired beautifully with their palette of lemony yellows, punchy grapefruits, vibrant limes and lush greenery, creating a wedding day that felt fresh, warm, and full of energy.

Whimsical Custom Invitations with Citrus-Colored Florals

Gracie and Paul’s invitation suite set the tone immediately and honestly it is hands down one of my favorite suites to date.

Their custom wedding invitations featured hand-painted citrus-colored florals, blending soft oranges, buttery yellows, and hints of leafy green for a look that felt joyful yet refined. The florals framed the wording organically, giving the suite an artful, collected feel rather than anything overly structured. I also loved that they were open to incorporating some fun die cuts, including a classic Texas cowboy boot for a rehearsal lunch invite and a perfect lemon featuring their initials which was used as a belly band.

To elevate the suite even further, each chartreuse envelope included a custom venue painting as the liner — a hand-painted illustration of Villa Antonia that gave guests a little preview of the place where Gracie and Paul would say “I do.”

It’s these kinds of details that turn an invitation into an experience.

Citrus-Themed Place Cards & Playful Paper Moments

At the reception, citrus continued to make sweet appearances in the paper details.

Citrus-themed place cards featured hand-painted fruit motifs in varying shades, adding color and charm to each place setting. They felt playful without being juvenile — perfect for a couple who wanted personality woven throughout an elegant celebration.

Each small illustration helped reinforce the overall design story, creating a cohesive look from ceremony to reception.

Their Cat, Illustrated for Cocktail Napkins

One of the most personal details? A hand-painted illustration of Gracie and Paul’s cat, Darcy, created for their cocktail napkins.

It was unexpected, adorable, and instantly beloved by guests. These kinds of custom illustrations are what make weddings feel deeply personal — a quiet nod to the everyday love stories that exist alongside the big one.

Why Custom Wedding Stationery Makes Such an Impact

Gracie and Paul’s Villa Antonia wedding is a perfect example of how custom wedding stationery can transform a day into a fully immersive experience.

When colors, motifs, and illustrations are carried across invitations, envelopes, place cards, signage, and paper goods, everything feels intentional. Nothing feels random. Nothing feels off-the-shelf.

Instead, your wedding becomes a visual narrative — one that reflects who you are as a couple.
