A Colorful and Whimsical Bonnet House Wedding for Stacey and Austin

A Bonnet House wedding is already full of personality, but Stacey and Austin’s colorful, tropical, and funky celebration took that character to an entirely new level. From their invitations to the smallest wedding-day details, I had the absolute joy of creating stationery and signage that felt like a true reflection of the couple and the wonderfully whimsical Bonnet House Museum & Gardens.

It All Started with a Love Story
Stacey and Austin met through a tennis league Austin organizes at work, and their first three dates happened during the very week the world shut down for COVID. After a few months of pursuing Stacey from afar, Austin made a weekend trip to Atlanta in June 2020, and the rest was history.
Their relationship continued long distance for several years before Stacey moved to Harrisburg in 2023 with her tortoiseshell cat, Rosie. Today, the two are travel buddies, music lovers, tennis players, cat-café enthusiasts, and adventurers who support each other’s many passions.
So when Stacey found some of my work for another Bonnet House bride on Pinterest, I was thrilled when she reached out. While I never reuse artwork from one client to another, I loved the opportunity to create something completely new for Stacey and Austin inspired by this incredible venue.
Inspired by Bonnet House
Bonnet House is such a special place to design for. The historic artists’ estate is surrounded by tropical gardens and features artwork and architectural details throughout the property, creating a setting that is colorful, eclectic, and full of unexpected little moments.
For Stacey and Austin, we leaned all the way into that personality.
Their stationery incorporated tropical colors inspired by the gardens, along with details drawn from the museum itself. I especially loved incorporating the giraffe statue, bird house, orchids, and turtle paintings. These little pieces of Bonnet House history gave the paper goods so much character and made the entire collection feel completely at home in the space.
From Invitations to the Wedding Day
As the wedding day approached, we carried that same story throughout every piece of their stationery. The collection included their invitations, a welcome sign, ceremony programs, menus, coasters, bar signage, custom cocktail signs, and seating chart.
The seating chart and table numbers incorporated cities that were meaningful to Stacey and Austin and celebrated their love of travel. Their three cats—Rosie, Dandelion, and Elaine—also made an adorable appearance on the bar signage and seating chart. I absolutely loved finding these little opportunities to make the wedding feel unmistakably theirs.
The goal was never for each piece to stand alone. Instead, I wanted the stationery to feel like one cohesive visual story unfolding throughout the celebration.
A Day Filled with Color and Joy
On the wedding day, all of those details came together beautifully against the lush grounds of Bonnet House. The Florida sunshine, tropical flowers, and intimate gathering created the perfect backdrop for Stacey and Austin to celebrate with their favorite people.
Stacey wore a classic white off-the-shoulder gown, while Austin wore a bold blue suit—a perfect complement to the colorful surroundings.
And one thing I couldn't help but notice was Stacey's smile. In every single photo, she radiated pure joy and happiness.

That is always my favorite part of designing wedding stationery: getting to create beautiful pieces that aren't just pretty, but help tell a couple's story. Stacey and Austin's Bonnet House wedding was colorful, personal, and completely full of character, and I loved being able to bring that story to life from the first invitation all the way through the wedding day.
